Hi there!! I’m ready to dive some Ohio Quarries.. but need someone that wouldn’t mind diving with a newbie. I mainly need to practice my skills. For the time being I can only do weekend dives. I have all my gear minus weights and tanks... I live in Southeastern Ohio and am free to travel in any direction to local quarries.

How far are you (or a dive site) from Columbus? I am planning to visit my brother this summer, and I’d be happy to dive with a newbie...I’ve got a good bit of quarry diving experience out here on the East Coast...its a joy all its own!!

That would be great!! I’m about an 1.5 hrs away..but I travel to Columbus all the time so not an issue. I live in a small town and always have to travel to shop etc. Let me know when you’ll be down. I have a full time job which is pretty flexible. But I also teach criminal justice classes at a local college and that’s not quite as flexible. I usually have to set up a sub and pay them if I want to take off. Feel free to use the direct message link to contact me. I’ll respond with my email.

Hi "Oceanfloor" ! Ted Johnson here from South Bend, Ind. I regularly dive the Gilboa Quarry. Myself and some people from my local dive shop go about once a month We usually stay at least one full day sometimes we stay the week end (Camping or Hotel) The dive shop sponsors a free lunch. There is a web site . (divegilboa.com) Its good diveing, sunken airplane, and other assorted treasures. Two sides - one is shallow (about 40’) the other is deep (130" ) Its probably a pretty good haul for you but I can let you know when we are going again if you like. I am also a new diver, planing a couple trips to Florida and beyond later this month. I would like to meet and dive with you. See you out there some time ! Dive Safe !! Ted J>
