Not sure why you want to dive the South Beach area, but I’m sure you have your reasons. If you are coming to Florida the best reef diving is in Key Largo, a short drive from South Beach. I live here in Florida and dive SE Florida and the Keys all the time and by far the best diving is in Key Largo. You also have some pretty good drift diving up toward West Palm, Jupiter, and Ft. Lauderdale. Conditions out of South Beach are not as good as some of the other areas. One main location they dive from there is called Carrie’s Fort. Not bad and sloping topography with average wildlife and reef structure. Still recommend Key Largo if you can make it there.
