The Oriskany is a great dive. My wife and I dived it before Gustav shifted her to a greater depth. I did do a touch-n-go off the flight deck and now I am very glad that I did. Don’t worry, there is lots to see above the 130’ depth. The island is large.

If you get lucky and you dive with great visibility, you can see vast expanses of the flight deck without exceeding the "FALSE" depth limit of 130’. I labeled the depth limit as "FALSE" because it is an arbitrary depth limit. IMHO, no diver should go beyond 60’ without a redundant tank and regulator, buddy or not.

Capt. Tim Thorsen of Viking Diving is a good person to talk with if you need a boat for diving Pensacola.

Also, go see the Naval Air Museum. Go on-line and check their IMAX schedule. We saw IMAX movies there that were not USN related. Their IMAX theater is really nice. The hardware that is on display is also very cool.

Think about diving Morrision Spring and Vortex Spring when you are there. You can do both in one day.

Good luck,
