Here on Bonaire we charge a room rate if you want accommodations only and then have different package rates that incorporate diving, vehicle, taxes, meet & greet and etc. Our room rate is based on 2 persons in a room and NOT per person. We use this same rate when configuring our packages. As for children, we offer 11 and under free accommodations when staying with a parent in the same room.
Under stand that here on Bonaire when figuring a package for a "child" that is over 11, we need to figure in room taxes, water and electric, etc. Most "teenagers" use as much as much water, if not more while showering as a diver does. A "child" over the age of 11, as we have seen by experience that is certified and dives, does as much as the parent diver 99.9% of the time, hence the same pricing.
If you have a child that is a "non-diver" over the age of 11, then we charge him the "Stay and Drive Rate. I know, he/she may not drive, but we could always price out the room, vehicle, taxes, dive packages, etc and you will come up with the same as the package.
At least that is how we do it here.
