Greg hit it on the head for PADI. for AOW its 5 dives, the first dive of five specialties including Deep and Underwater Navigation. The other three dives are chosen between you and your instructor.
For example, at my LDS here in Colorado, its 5 dives in 2 days. Day 1 is Altitude, Peak Performance Bouyancy and Night. Day 2 is Deep and Underwater Navigation.
I then went back afterwards and completed the specialties, but that isn’t required for AOW.
