I don’t think I would go the alcohol route. Over time I suspect the alcohol would dry out and ruin the silicone.
I’ve been thru many masks over the years and my process is scrub it good with toothpaste (sometimes requires 2 or 3 scrubs) to remove the silicone from the manufacturing process and after that I just use sea drops. A $7 bottle lasts me all year, so I don’t have an issue with spending 58 cents a month to not to have to slobber in my mask.

One thing that they don’t tell you in the instructions on the bottle is you apply the sea drops and LET IT DRY. Then you wash it off. Every OW class we have divers who squirt it on and rub it around and rinse it off ~ and then wonder why their mask still fogs.

The only thing I don’t like about the Sea Drops is when the bottle gets squished in the dive bag or BC pocket and the stuff gets all over everything.
