I dive year-round in the gulf (Tampa Bay area). It IS all about comfort. Find out what the current temp is 1 week out and plan for that. Personally, if below 68 5mm with hood. 69-76 3mm, 76-80 1mm tropical, and rash guard above 80. If wreck diving, minimum is a skin/ 1mm tropical. Dive the environment and be comfortable.
