Whatever the reason something is wrong.
Is it really worth $7 to dive with broken equipment?If you bought it locally I would expect they would fix the problem and give you the air fill for free.
If not it would be the last $7 they got from me.
Or just wait a while till your regulator has something loose in it and you won’t hear the tank noise...EVER.
