That plus some BC’s are harder to dump than others.

My ex floated like a cork and needed more lead, her other problem was she did what she was taught as a kid, take a deep breath before going down. A diver needs to exhale to go down while dumping their BC, just be sure your air is on!

Body condition is also a factor that the calculator doesn’t factor. After being swept past the trail line and my legs turning to rubber trying to catch the boat I went out and bought a bike and started riding, a lot! First thing I noticed was my wetsuit bottom didn’t fit over my legs anymore but I needed less weight even though I was displacing more water. That’s probably why the DB weight calculator is off on me.
