I agree with all of the above. I have been around for more than a few years and have been a member of countless organizations. Some of them were slowly taken over by the "purists" who insisted that everything be tightly related to the subject of interest. The result, members began to drop out, myself included. If any organization wants to survive and be vibrant it needs to be inclusive and open minded, Otherwise the purists just end up talking to the purists resulting in endless arcane arguments over which one is the purer!
