Not only do I dive solo, at times, I teach solo diving. No, I do not dive solo all the time. I pick & choose when I do so, and it is done with the utmost serious planning. Most of the time it is on a scooter. At our local quarry, only a few even have scooters,... let alone technical scooters. I have been thoroughly trained with my technical equipment. My manifolded doubles are considered a type of redundant air, as are independent doubles (sidemounts) & carrying pony bottles. right now, the only way I dive that I will not yet dive solo, is my rebreather. I do not have 50 hrs on it yet & still consider myself a novice on the unit. yes, with solo diving, you have additional risk & task loading, but with proper equipment, training & most important,... mindset, it can be done with reasonable safety.
