Probably late to the party, but we do dives with shops off the ships all the time. Probably the best one that I have used for a cruise visit is Blue Project Diving. Blanca is one of the best instructors I have met in many of my travels, and you will enjoy the valet diving experience they offer. Plenty of time to get off the ship, take a quick cab down to La Caleta, and meet up with your dive shop.

Please support the local dive shops rather than Carnival. Carnival is now ripping up one of the best night dive areas to put in a larger dock area. Carnival will also charge you an arm and a leg, and then pay the local company a small amount of it, which leads to a not so happy dive master.. which means not a great dive for you.

On another note, if you can be convinced to use a different cruise line, we are doing a dive cruise in February, with stops in Cozumel, Roatan and Belize, with dives set up at each port.
