I went with an outfit called M.A.D. Mayan Aqua Dive, which had a modern (compared to many down there) diveboat, great knowledgeable guides, and smaller groups. There is a mooring line to the wreck, but our guides knew better than to try and go up or down it in the rough water. We watched another group hang onto the line and get absolutely swamped. We dropped a hundred yards up current and drifted perfectly to the wreck. We spent half our air on the wreck and then drifted to another reef with calmer water for pickup. I was really impressed with MAD. They used to have a website, but it hasn’t been up for about a year. I doubt anyone used it in Mexico. If they are still in operation you should totally look them up while there. They picked up and dropped off at my hotel for free. The e-mail contacs I have for them were these:
