In Bali I used Absolute Scuba up the coast in Padang Bai, the dive op and rooms were good, the food not, there was a European run restaurant up the street with great meals. You can rent a cab for the day for US$30 so don’t feel locked into tours.
The best diving was up around the Liberty wreck and there is a great dive shop there but I don’t remember the name, maybe someone here will chime in and there are DB members in Bali :)
Carry toilet paper!
On the flight to and from Wakatobi lock everything not on your person, the flight crew took my carry-on and put it in baggage. There is no place to stow it in the cabin. Somewhere along the route I got robbed.
