Hahaha, Dr.John!! I never ended up in his clinic last year when I spent 6 weeks out there (4 on Utila and 2 in Cayo Menor), but I did end up at Dr.Jennifer with a staph infection on my foot. Took my Cipro and took care of that, but I missed the coral spawning which I had been dying to see. Was not fun being grounded for 3 days. I love Utila, and Cayo Menor was astoundingly beautiful. I have memories from there that will definitely stay with me for life. I am really looking forward to getting to know Roatan, and the work I will be doing should be really cool, and give me the opportunity to know the place very well. I can’t wait!

I am actually participating in a competition right now to try to help me out with the costs of going back to Utila to get my DM and IDC. If you are interested in helping me out, follow this link, watch my video (full of great UW pics and video) and then scroll down to comment, "like" and share to other social media. The number of comments shares and like are used to judge the competitors, so your support would be very much appreciated!

I have been busy networking with lots of the local NGOs, and might be doing some work for the Iguana Breeding Centre on Utila when I go back in the fall, but that is yet to be determined. I have a few projects I want to do there concerning dive tourism and conservation but they are still in the works. Last year I was there with Operation Wallacea at Coral View doing reef ecology and then reef check, and I really loved it although it broke the bank for me. I need to do things much more economically for the next 2 semesters, which should not be a problem, the Bay Islands are pretty cheap to stay, dive and eat! :)
