I am in Nashville, Tn, but want to give Blue water a try. Going to try for the end of the month. I need to test my new kit out first.

I want to explore a bit, but what I want and feel I need to do is practice buoyancy control. This may sound boring, but I want to do wreck diving later. I don’t want to struggle to stay at depth during deco stops or be that jackass who bounces off (and kills) the reef while on vacation.
That’s what I plan on doing what do you want to do?

I also need to work on bouncy control any time in the water I can get will to help me to become a better diver is great.

I just want to swim around, so I’m game for anything. There are bream beds there at about 20ft, if I recall correctly, that you could use to simulate swimming over a reef. There are concrete pipes that you can swim thru and they have some diamond shaped pvc thingys suspended in the water that you can swim through too. I drove a DPV thru those once very fun. There is a sailboat wreck at around 70 feet and a school bus near by, a little deeper I think. Both are marked by a bouy with a rope leading to the "wreck" that has a big knot at 15 feet, so you can practice safety stops.

The SCUBA god must be mad at me. I have to work all weekend and my wife just got told by Her doctor not to travel more then an hour from home because of her pregnancy. I wont be going anywhere for about a month now. I’ll head down in Aug. if any one is up for it.

I’m from Mobile, Al. I’ve been reading your quotes and replies. I sure would like to dive around Birmingham. I’m open water and advanced certified, been diving one year. Saturdays in August is great for me. I have a couple of buddies that would like to be included as well. Let me know if you are interested.

Not trying to hijack the thread here, but since it was on the subject: Just wanted to let people know we have a small group of us from GA going to Pelham on the 9th of August.
