Need 2 more for this Wed (11/29) boat dive in West Palm - 2 tank dive for $55!

I had a great day yesterday on a Pirate’s Paradise boat leaving from Riviera Beach City Marina. The marina is at the inlet close to Blue Heron Bridge (not where you go to dive BHB).

I left some gear there and want to get another dive in since I have to drive 3 hours to get there...

Conditions Sunday were 40-50 foot vis, and 80º water. Should be about the same for a while.

Pirate’s has a Wednesday special for 2 dives, leaving at 10am, for $55. Tank/gas rental is additional. They have a 3 person minimum to go out, and will provide one mate and a dive master, with an additional mate if more people go. We had 6 people and 2 mates.

They’ll dive any sites the divers want to do. We dove Triangles and Fourth Window. Both were excellent and I would do them again or something different.

A little short notice but interested in future dives to this area. Are these deep dives, reefs, wrecks? I’m waiting, forever, on return of my console computer. I do have a wrist but would not want to do deep dives with just the one. Okay with shallow reefs though.

I’m starting to put the dirt out on Oceanic, Huish Outdoor now. It’s been almost 2 months since I sent in my 180nx to be refurbished. Seems the change to Huish Outdoors was not a good change! Don’t even answer emails now! About the time I buy a new one this one will show up. Thankfully I didn’t pay up front and if I buy new it won’t be Oceanic.

Please keep me in mind next time...scubatom@gmx.com

@ bsharp117. Weekends are tough for me, especially this time of year. I’m a chef so I work most weekends.

@FtMeyersTom. Yeah, short notice because I left $700 worth of gear on the dock and wanted to get back down there! The dive op is going to hold it for me so no rush really. As I said, weekends are iffy, but the Wednesday deal is great if you can get away.

They’re very open to taking divers wherever they want to go depending on skill level. We did Triangle, and Fourth Window.

Triangle site consists of a freighter (The Owens), a barge (The Phillips), and an old Rolls Royce which is practically gone now. It’s in about 80 ft of water.

Fourth Window is a reef which begins roughly out from the 4th window of the Breakers hotel. This was a beautiful drift dive in about 60 feet.

It’s more common for me to be free on a Wednesday than a weekend, and during the week Pirate’s Paradise leaves the dock at 10am instead of 8am. That’s much better for me since I have a 3 hour drive.

I am interested and since I’m retired Wednesdays are good and I like the cost. It’s about 3hr drive for me also so 10am works. I would be interested in any of those dives since they are not over 100ft but partial to wrecks so would prefer the Triangle. I wish I would get back my 180nx but I have a Veo 3.0 wrist that does nitrox but I don’t have the DC cable to download my dives and it’s $100 to buy the one for Veo 3.

Can you go Wednesday Dec 13? I would go the 6th but I have a lumbar injection for arthritis the 5th and I shouldn’t risk diving the next day or I would go then.

Let shoot for the 13th if you can go then. Shoot me you phone number and I will call this weekend and talk about it. I have a 3 mil which I have used below 80deg but much lower and I would get cold. I have a 1mil 1 piece rash guard top I could add to help.

Sounds good FMT. I can’t commit too far ahead I’m afraid because this is my busy season. I’m a freelance chef, so I have to be ready to work when the opportunity presents.

I’m a new diver, but the dive master on Sunday said my buoyancy was perfect, and I’m relatively comfortable in the water. I’ve been to 100 ft, and I have no issues with that depth. I’ve been training diligently to get the basics down. Have nitrox cert. and have a fairly low SAC rate.

Hard to say what the water will be like in 2 weeks, but 80º was nice.

I’m also diving on a backup while I wait for my main computer to come back from service. Using a Geo 2 and a basic SPG for now.

I’ll put the 13th on my schedule and see what happens. I get work in Miami sometimes, so maybe in that case we could meet in the keys before or after.
