Greetings, I am traveling to Cocoa Beach FL for the holidays and wanted to get some more logged dives for my Dive Master Program. There’s some great springs near that area that I would like to check out. Would anyone be interested in being my dive buddy? I will be in the area from Dec. 24th until January 4th. Blue Springs State Park looked amazing but I am keen for any diving really.

Blue springs in Orange city is an interesting dive, but there isn’t a lot of space to it. Its basically a crack in the earth. That’s about 20 feet X 40feet. Depths are limited to about 70 unless your whole party is cave certified. To me a better dive would be Paradise springs in Ocala, or Devil’s Den in Williston. Both are caverns and allow lights so you can see around. They also both have tanks available.

Blue Springs State Park in Orange City(near Deland) is also closed for diving & swimming during the winter months when the manatees make their way into that particular spring. If your group is at least cavern certified, they will allow you to bring a light and it’s a great dive...during the rest of the year. 100+ft in depth.
Most of the open water springs are west of the Lake City-Gainesville-Ocala areas. Would join you if I wasn’t out of town that week.

Blue is closed in the winter for the manatees, past bad behavior of some divers cost us, used to allow us entry if we kept our distance (never saw a manatee below the log @ 13 FFW).

I might be diving a SW & FW combo on the 29th & 30th, and near CB, PM me if interested.

Cookie, you actually don’t need cavern certification, just open water for both places I mentioned.
Curtis, yes we need another dive....

Stephanie, somehow lost a was trying to send, so sent my email address.

Drew, know our off days don’t line up, but morning @ Paradise worked.

Eric, see you’re out that week, will try again. For what you did with short fills, looking forward to some full tank dives. ;-) Dave, you reading?
