I will be in San Diego next week with my girlfriend. We were planning on doing some shore diving at La Jolla underwater park and maybe some boat dives as well. I have never dove California and I was looking for some advice from a local; dive shop recommendations, best time of day to go, best entry spots, anything that might be useful would be great.

Try House of Scuba, you can find them on yelp. I hear good things about them.
