I dove with bahama divers when I cruised, cruise ship didn’t even offer diving on my trip. I just did the afternoon one tank dive and we were also with a bunch of snorkelers so we only did a very shallow reef, about 15 feet. But it was a beautiful dive and the people from the shop do a great job. The only bad thing I have to say about them is I bought the DVD that they shoot and it took me 4 months to get it. They are very slow to communicate by email and seems like sometimes they don’t even check it but overall I had an awesome time with them :)

Stuart Cove’s is the big dive operation there. It’s a pretty impressive operation on a large scale with multiple boats going out twice a day each. Both they and Bahama Divers will pick you up from the cruise ship for free, and pricing is similar. I have only used SC on my one trip this past August. I would check out both companies websites. From reviews on-line I heard similar stories about both companies being "cattle cars" and limiting bottom time to get more customers into the day. I can say that was the case with SC, but overall it was a fun day of diving. Here is a link to the video I made of our two tank trip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnjS_qVKdJM
Have fun!

Rich,
Love the video, great choice of song as well, classic, totaly fits. You have me totaly stoked now, 6 weeks and I am down there for some diving. Doing the whole shark dive thing as well.
Paul,
For what its worth I have booked a week of diving with Stuart Cove in January. I have heard ( from Rich as well) the cattle car concerns and there is no doubt I am expecting it to be a little busier than the 6-8 max that I normaly dive with on a boat up here. I talked to the guy that owns the dive shop I deal with and he dive Bahamas regularly and actualy knows Cove. He agreed it is a big operation and can be busy at times, but indicated to me that it is a good operation and has some very cool diving. As mentioned to Rich above I am doing their shark dive, which I think is going to be frikkin amazing. In total I have booked to do 12 dives over the course of 4 days. Having never been to Bahamas I was guided towards using them. If I recall from your forum that you are doing before I go, so if you do use them you will have to let me know how it was.

I used Stuarts cove and they were good.Only 8 people on the boat that day. They can all get a bit crowded so dont worry about that to much.I think you cant go wrong with them, but I am sure there are others as good.good luck and dive safe.

Ok, so we dove with Bahama Divers. We got there right at 1:00, but they didn’t leave without us. In fact, I had some problems with my credit card, (always call the issuer before you leave the country) and they waited very patiently as I got it sorted out. We got on the boat to find that we were two of only three going on the boat, and with a top watch, and a Divemaster it was like we had chartered our own boat. Seas were rough due to a 25kn wind, (really knocked the cruise ship around) so we kept it shallow. Saw lots of marine life including groupers, triggers, jacks, countless damsels, two lobsters and a huge lion fish. Something that impressed me, waste divemaster was picking up trash and fishing line and such as we went. He pointed out all of the more interesting animals, and made our enjoyment job 1. I would recommend them highly. Oh, and Kudos to Joan, the girl that works the counter, she really is great!!!
