Diving isn’t spectacular in Jamaica, but Sandals Dunn’s River has their own dive boat which makes it very convenient

We stay Couples Negril every year. While it may not have a lot of things, the diving is good, all included two times per day with equipment. Believe it or not, it was on par with the trip to Kaui we took last year.

Last time I was at Couples Negril I had to show them my Health insurance card. Are they still doing that. I tried to explain to them that BCBS or whatever was not really dive insurance but I am not sure they got it. They had people get bent in the past and ended up having to pay a hospital bill for them! SO they wanted proof of medical insurance. What they needed was proof of Dan or Dive Assure but were not even aware of it.

We never had a issue the last three years and have stayed at two of the couples resorts. As always, we’re responsible for our safety so making sure you know the profile is mandatory. I wasnt’ going to get back in the water on one dive, because I didn’t have enough surface time, but when I said I would stay they waited.
The dive staff has always been good, but you dont always get experienced divers and I worrie about the resort courses anyway. I have seen at one of the resorts people going out that didn’t belong with certified divers, but I don’t know the history behind what happened.
