The Fuji F200 may be worth your consideration. The Fuji housings are much better than Canon housings and actually cost less. The cash you save can beput towards a wide angle lens.

oh yeah forgot to mention what the camera needs: RAW (it’s easier to fix in lightroom than jpeg) PASM or atleast manual settings hot shoe

the G9 & G 10 are the only P&S cameras I know of that shoot RAW. A friends of mine shoots RAW with the G9. She loves it. But not sure about the strobe.

I would suggest looking for a used DSLR set up. A Subal Housing with an older camera can be purchased quite cheap and they produce excellent images. Subal housings are a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend them. D70’s and D200’s with housings are very affordable. D300’s will be cheap soon as people go to the D700.
Manual mode is vital in getting good underwater shots.
With fashion all of you shots will be wide angle and auto modes do not work. Expose the water and use the strobes to light the subject.
I also would recommend larger strobes minimum of 2 strobes for fashion 4 or more would be nice to control the shadows.

Used Subal for D70 http://www.camerasbelow.com/Products/Underwater_Cameras_Used.htm
$300
Underwater photographers are famous for buying the latest and greatest and selling the old stuff dirt cheap.
Personally I keep mine. I still have a subal for a nikon f100 that I have not used in 4 years with 2 strobes.
Look for used SLR’s and housings, you won’t be disappointed.
The new Subal housings can’t use the old ports so even ports are out there cheap.

it says it’s for an N70. isn’t n70 film? I suck at film lol.

d70 is digital. 6 megpixels. That is what I still shoot. www.rickcavanugh.com for LOTS of photos with d70 (some are film though)
Film does a better job in some instances with wide angle.
To get a good sun burst, set shutter to 1/200 or faster to catch beams. Expose water next to sunburst to get water color. Use strobes to "paint" subject with light.
Digital sensors do not like the high light levels of the sun and it is typical to get a cyan ball. Film does not do that. It is much harder to get a good sunburst with digital. Many you see are photoshopped in after the fact.
Also, must underwater strobes are not TTL, but TTL only works for macro anyway.

so where do I get the D70 housing. the link u gave me was for a N70. unless i overlooked something

Take a look at the Fantasea Remora Strobes for $189, has preflash control, variable output and a DIN 14 rating on power.
The Ikelite housing for the G9 is cheaper than the G10. Ikelite has a new wide angle lens for the G10 that you can remove while underwater. I always worry that my Canon housing will leak but not with my Ikelite housing for my point & shoot S80.

The N70 is the subal housing for the D70.

ohhh...cool., i see. so how to do i buy it? but i still have to buy a port for it.

Port and Lens is very important if you are doing underwater fashion.
the 10.5mm is a little too wide (too fisheyed) and the 20 is probably not wide enough. Are you looking for full body or partial body? If partial a 20mm would be close or get at 17-35mm or the new 10-24mm if you are trying to get a full body shot.
Old subal ports were the smaller 6 in and the Fisheye at 8in.
The 6 inch port required diopters on most lens while the 8 in did not. Some dome ports create a false image that is much closer than the lens can focus.
Make sure you can get a deal on the ports as the 8 inch port retailed at around $2000.
Subal ports are glass with great optics.
Refer to this links chart for lens to port choices
