Underwater photography is a hobby that can never be perfected. Sure, they say practice makes perfect; but in reality, we all know our images can always be improved.

At the suggestion of NYUPS regular PJ, the November meeting of NYUPS will embody the question, “Can you help me with this?” The meeting will kick off by a quick presentation by DivePhotoGuide Editor Joe Tepper, who struggled to take his imagery to the next level on a recent assignment to Fiji. He will give his tips for how to help improve your images with simple steps.

After that, we will open the floor to fellow NYUPS-ers to ask the question, “Can you help me with this?” Attendees are encouraged to submit up to 5 images that they feel could be improved, but aren’t quite sure how. From issues of composition and lighting, to creative techniques and post-processing, the NYUPS think tank will help improve your images.

The ideal size of each landscape orientation image is 10” wide x 7.5” high, with individual file sizes being no larger than 1 MB. Please email your five images to Joe Tepper at joe@divephotoguide with the subject line “NYUPS Images- Help Me”

If you would like to submit videos, please bring them to the meeting as Quicktime files on flash drive, CD or DVD. Videos should be clips less then 5 minutes each.

The deadline for your images is November 15th. After that, we cannot accept anymore entries (without free beers for the NYUPS crew). Once you send in images, you will receive confirmation within 48 hours. If you do not, or have any questions, please call the NYUPS hotline: 847-951-0623.

We hope to see you and your wonderful images at the NYUPS 2015 "help session" on Monday, November 16th.
