 Catalina like visibility (at least a few weeks ago it was) and marine life!




Level of Skill: Advanced (Highly Recommended)

Depth of Location: 30-40 feet (most reef shallower)

When to Dive: At High or Low Tide (with 1 - 2 ft surf max)
What you may find: Larger variety of fish, larger, and healthier reef then anywhere in mainland SoCal. Harbor seal, Bat Ray, Guitar Fish, Kelp Bass, you name it!
Site Hazards: Somewhat steep hike down hill, Large Stones Entry
Site Facilities: None

How to get there:

Honeymoon cove is located off cliff at intersection of Paseo Del Mar / Via Barri. (Palos Verdes) It is the cove north of Christmas Tree and immediately south of Lunada Bay. 



Directions:   I-110 South, Exit PCH go right, Left onto Calle Mayor, Left onto Palos Verdes Blvd , Right onto Paseo Lunado, left via anacapa, Right Paseo del Mar, entry point is near 2812 Paseo Del Mar You’ll see the park on your right.

Tromptista - 11/25/2011 7:04 PM Today we saw the limits of honeymoon coves peaceful entry. We showed up to very large surf rolling into the cove making great conditions for surfers. In the cove it was churned up and probably very surgy. We settled for entry at edge of cardiac hill cove to find also some large surf and 6 ft viz at best.

Tromptista - 11/24/2011 2:04 PM I am still in. Prob just one dive. Conditions at shaws were 10-12 ft viz. I am sure will be better at honeymoon. Water is starting to cool down :-(
