Conditions: Lower surf this week compared to last, hopefully improved viz along with the warm water.

Level of Skill: Introductory

Depth of Location: 30-40 feet

When to Dive: Flowing toward High Tide
What you may find: Horn Sharks, Lobsters, Scallops, Rocky Reef with lots of crevices.
Site Hazards: A quick dip just before the surf break (make sure you have bc inflated to expect it)
Site Facilities: None

How to get there:

To get to Woods Cove in Laguna Beach turn south at Diamond street from PCH. If parking is particularly bad you can back out to PCH and then turn at Moss street. The parking will be on Ocean which is a one way street. Diamond street is several miles south of Broadway street and the main beach. There are NO signal lights at either of these streets and the signs are easy to miss! Moss street is probably the most pronounced with large letters "MOSS POINT" on a brick wall (see picture featured on Moss Street). The entrance to Woods cove is just past Diamond street on the south side of ocean. Woods cove is completely in a residential area and you enter the beach from between two houses.

The west side set of steps is easiest and closest to shore entry.

Bottom Time: 50 Minutes / Depth: 26 Feet (Max) / Temp: 66 Warm
Visibility: 20+ / Swell Direction: West Surf: 1 -2 feet - Moderate Surge (typical of Woods)
Super Easy Entry, water was crystal clear right at the shore. Lots of lobsters walking around. Plenty of fish to see. Large Red Crabs inside the crevices. Some Very large Eels.

Overall a very nice dive.

geeze guys, why not Malaga Cove or somewhere near PV?

Laguna is too far with too much traffic from LA, it’s impossible for me to make it.
