Farnsworth Bank is a large sea mount consisting of several pinnacles and is half a mile wide from East to West. It is situated five miles South from the back side of Catalina in the open ocean. It is therefore exposed to all weather conditions and often has strong current making it an advanced dive. The top of the pinnacles is 65’ dropping down to 200’. Farnsworth is an ecological reserve famous for it’s protected purple hydrocoral and better than average visibility due to open ocean. You do not need to be AOW certified, but
you do need some deep diving experience . This is not a trip for your first deep dive. The trip will consist of three dives. First will be Farnsworth, followed by Cape Cortez, and possibly Eagles Nest. We might do two dives at one of the first two spots if the conditions are spectacular. But all dive sites will be subject to the conditions of the day.
