Glass Beach - Mendocino Coast - Fort Bragg CA

Loading...
Glass Beach - Mendocino Coast is a salt water dive site, located in Fort Bragg, CA. This dive site has an average rating of 3.33 out of 5 from 3 scuba divers.

The history of Glass Beach is as colorful as the surf-polished glass that covers it. Once the site for glass bottling factory, it also served as the town dump many years ago. There are still many treasures to uncover on this dive!
At the North end of Fort Bragg, turn West from Highway 1 on Elm Street (the Northern-most stop light).
This area has a lot of rock fish, crabs, abalone and kelp. At times when it’s calm it is just like diving in an aquarium that is very well taken care of; however, be careful of sharps sticking out of rocks near & on shore. This was a dump a long time ago. Very interesting place to dive!

Ab diving and spearfishing. it used to be a dump, where all of the glass came from, long ago. kinda funny seeing spark plugs embedded into the rocks...it’s a fun spot to dive and a great place to spend the day.

This is an OK dive when the water is flat. Not much shelter from N/W wind and surf. Shallow site better for free diving.
