Beacon Reef is a fringed reef that borders the whole west side of Koh Similan island No.8, featuring a steep drop-off from a depth of 5m to a sand bottom at 30-40m. The Atlantis Wreck is a landmark of this site. She sank in 2002 and came to rest amongst the striking variety of healthy hard corals. Lying on the slope, her stern is at a depth of 35m and her bow at 20m.
