Welcome to Kraken Springs Watersports Park!! The only recreational open water diving resort in the state of Georgia!

Formally known as Dive Georgia Quarry, this 35+ acre diver playground has been built for divers, by dive instructors and is receiving a massive overhaul. With massive capital improvements we have all the amenities you are ever going to be looking for in a local place to dive. In the 2018 summer season we will be opening it up to Friday and Saturday night Tent and Camper camping, night diving, and watersports beyond diving such as Stand Up Paddle Boards, Kayaking, etc.

Kraken Springs is a converted quarry with a natural spring. Visibility is dependent on depth and time of year. It is an excellent location for training from recreational levels and in particular advanced training such as Tec, PSD, Rebreather, etc you can’t get in many other places inland in the southeast US.

briavia - 9/04/2017 7:40 PM 5 dives here 9/2/17. Water vis was 10-15ft in the morning, nearing 12ft by afternoon. Surface temp was 80deg. Water temp was 80-76deg down to the thermocline at about 25’. dropped to about 65deg. (62 at 45’). Lots of attractions. Did my OW cert dives here but this was my first fun dive. attractions include ski boat, jetski, sailboat, steam shovel, bayliner, and many platforms for training. Staff is phenomenal. Dive Georgia, LLC. is the best!! Saw dime sized freshwater jellies and a baseball sized freshwater clam near the bayliner. Air/Nitrox onsite. Dive shop onsite. knowledgeable Professional staff. Bathhouse with showers and changing area. Plenty of parking onsite.

You all have become a large part of lives and family. This was a hard decision for us not for the closing of the business, but because of all of you our extended family. Please come out Saturday, October 13 for a farewell celebration. We will be open until 10pm for night diving. Sunday we close the gates for the last time at 4pm. Thank you again and God Bless!! THEY SHUT THE DOORS AT THE END OF THE 2012 DIVE SEASON AFTER HAVING ANOTHER SETBACK BY LOSING EVERYTHING IN A LIGHTNING FIRE! INSTEAD OF TRYING TO REBUILD, THEY DECIDED TO SHUT DOWN. Vis was very low at around 5-7’ and did get worse when folks didn’t watch their fins and disturbed the bottom. Therm was at 15’ and went form high 70s to around 65. Not a problem with a suit.

TheBoneDoc - 3/14/2011 2:23 PM Last time I was there the Viz dropped to 5’ at 60’ and then opened back up to 15’ at 130’, there is absolutely no light below about 90’. I found a late 50’s vette in 157’ last fall. The water temp was in the low 40’s at 140-160’+.

C-Ray - 10/30/2008 1:50 AM Last time I was here the average water temp was 66. It was reported to me by one of my group that the thermocline was around 40feet, with a temp drop to about 59. The vis was 10 to 15 feet when the silt was not stirred up. I saw quite a lot of fish, and they were very active and curious of us. Oct ,08
