Gilboa Quarry - Gilboa OH

Wonderful dive site. Has two side a shallow approx 60’ and deep 120’. Deep side you have to file deep plan with office. Fed by underground spring around 40 degree in that area. Home of some prehistoric paddelfish. Helicopter, airplane just a few of the submerged items to be found

I was there last Saturday! Malia Smith and Jimmy Hawkins dove with me. Good time. Jimmy and I are heading back down Saturday. Love to have company. I hope to dive several times. Not sure about Jimmy. Send me a message. We can dive if you would like.

Unfortunately, I have to work this weekend. I am looking to go to Nelsons ledges sometime during the week in the next couple weeks. I know it’s not the best place but it’s where I had my checkout dives in 1978

I just went scuba diving at Gilboa this past weekend. One of my best non-Ocean divers ever. Lots of great things to see and hundreds of trout bass and other fish that surround you.

Went diving here 24-26 July 2015. If you go on the weekend, be sure to get in the water early before all of the classes start, and you will have exceptional visibility. It’s a bit pricey, but it also is a wonderful place to dive. The owner can be a bit harsh at times.

I was at Gilboa Quarry on 6/27/2015 & 6/28/2015 ... I was assisting with a PADI Open Water Certification. Diving was ok ... vis 20+ feet ... diving was ok ... a lot of students were there & the bottom was kicked up quite a bit

...sometimes customer service has a big effect when you go diving (my love for diving was distracted by the way our group was treated) ... here is the treatment that i got on two consecutive days ... My suggestion everyone ... just stay away and find some please else to dive

I was shocked at the poor customer service from Dave (or the owner if that is his name ... maybe it is mike & his staff. ALL of the staff was very rude and vulgar.
As I was waiting to pay my fees (w/ cash I might add) water from the roof was leaking from the roof on the counter. I was splashed from drops of water coming through the roof. There were two dirty trash containers on the counter catching water from leaks . People were belittled by Dave if they accidentally skipped answering any questions on Giboa’s Liability waver form. All that I saw were frowns, mumbling profanities, nasty looks from the staff of Gilboa quarry. This was experienced by self, my instructor & our students and a multitude of people both on Saturday 6/27/15 & Sunday 6/28/15. My instructor was trying to give Dave his tank for filling and Dave told him, "... to go the F around". Also, the steps going down to the water were extremely slick ... & I almost slipped ... about this rude & non professional & not acceptable behavior. The Bath house was filthy with shower curtains missing and one of the urinals was broken and had a couple lengths of black electrical tape covering it. The floor in the Men’s changing room was wet & i got my clean clothes wet as a result of the water on the floor ... all else that I can say is shame on you Dave & staff ... you need to close business down if this is what you think about your customers!!!

Chemist - I pretty much agree with you. A shame, and comments such as yours are made by many divers I have spoken to. It is his manner. Unfortunate, but I think he is decent deep down.
