The P29 Patrol boat is one of two wrecks in the area, along with the other (MV Rozi). Originally named the Boltenhagen, it was a Kondor I-class minesweeper built in East Germany. After the Volksmarine was disbanded just before the reunification of Germany, she was sold to Malta in 1997 and renamed P29 where it was used as a patrol boat in the Maltese Maritime Squadron. Scuttled in August-2007 specifically for divers. It has been made safe both environmentally and for scuba. This wreck lies on a sandbed at 34 meters (111 feet) and if penetrated you can hit 37 meters (121 feet). When scuttled, they left the bow machine gun in place.
NOTE: divers must be advanced (30 meter / 100 feet) certified to dive this site.
