Western Shoals - Guam

Loading...
Western Shoals is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Apra Harbor, Guam. This dive site has an average rating of 3.00 out of 5 from 1 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 71-80ft/22-24m. The average visibility is 36-40ft/11-12m.

Western Shoals was once the most popular Harbor site, but the last several typhoons had left it severely damaged. It is slowly recovering, however it still offers a great dive. And easy dive, with easy access, and consistently good visibility. It has a sloping Reef with small crevices, schooling fish, and many anemones. There are also several large crevices "swim through" as well. The top of the reef is covered with vast colonies of Staghorn corals. The site is very similar to Gab Gab Beach but in the middle of the harbor. Depth Range: 5 - 75 ft.

- Second boat dive of the day with MDA. Didn’t see anything overly spectacular, but I did get some great macro shots of some of the smaller life The Reef has to offer.

Not a bad sight... Between the typhoons and the tourists the site is heavily damaged, but there is still plenty of life on the reef. Not my personal favorite Harbor dive, but still worth a visit.
