Armchair Reef takes it’s name from the shape of the reef itself - it’s like looking down at the top of an armchair with the arms reaching out towards the deeper areas. The top of the reef is at a depth of 25-35ft and drops off into the sand to a maximum depth of 60-65ft.

The top of the reef is covered in sea fans and beautiful hard and soft corals. A great place for finding lemon/yellow rays, scorpion fish, flamingo tongues and shoals of grunts and chromis. The ’arms’ of the reef curve under to provide overhangs with amazing sponges and soft corals, and provide shelter for shoals of tarpon. You can also find grouper, moray eels and nurse sharks hiding in these places, and there are many holes to search in for large crabs, lionfish, shrimp and spotted drums. Bring a dive light! Check out the sand areas too for Southern Stingrays and passing Eagle Rays.

A beautiful second dive from the boat.
