U-309 is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Moray Firth, United Kingdom. The maximum depth is over 150ft/46m.

Sunk 16 Feb, 1945 in the North Sea east of the Moray Firth, in position 58.09N, 02.23W, by depth charges from the Canadian frigate HMCS St. John. 47 dead (all hands lost).

July 2001. 63 metres to the seabed, 60 metres on the wreck. Dive team: John Thornton, Stuart Murray, Ian Huntington, Tim Hayes, Wolfgang Kanig. The team were diving a mixture of open circuit and closed circuit trimix
