Martini Rock - United Arab Emirates

Loading...
Martini Rock is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. This dive site has an average rating of 3.50 out of 5 from 10 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 61-70ft/19-21m. The average visibility is 11-15ft/3-5m.

Underwater rock with mooring line to sandy rock bottom at 12M. Top of rock around 3-5M depending on tides, good for a safety stop if you cannot relocate the mooring line. Deepest part is around 19M.

Rock is full of clefts and fissures with some various scattered larger rocks around the shallower area.

Lots of soft Dendronephthia corals as well as blue and green whip corals. Plenty of red tooth trigger fish, sergeant majors, schooling snapper and gill raker mackerel, total awesome if you do have good visibility. many scorpionfish and moray eels. Check out the bottom for Goby / Shrimp symbiosis and the occasional large pipe fish. There are usually several Broomtail Wrasse and they can be quite inquisitive, I have had one follow me around on more than one occasion. A few lion fish here too. Occasionally you might come across a turtle or ray.

Good site for a beginner

The visibility was not very good. We saw squid, turtles and we were keeping an eye out for sharks which like to swim in these waters but did not spot any. The Whale Shark likes these waters a lot and in the summer you can see them.

My most dive spot since 1985
Seen a pair of pure Black Lion Fish not the black gold
This is where I fell in love with diving

I went scuba diving here on 8/18/2004.
Great east coast dive site. Fairly little experience needed for this dive site, look for pipe fish on the sand floor around 15m. Green turtles are common as well as rays. The cove and sandy shore close by offer a great surface interval. Also many other dive sites in this general area, inchcape 2, hole in the wall, martini drift, Shark island, among others.

A reasonable multilevel dive site. If I don’t spot a scorpionfish then I am not looking close enough. Done 5 dives at this site in 2013 so far rarely find nudibranchs here.
