Kea Lake is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located in Kearney, NE 68845. This dive site has an average rating of 2.00 out of 5 from 1 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 5-10ft/2-3m. The average visibility is 11-15ft/3-5m.

This is a small sandpit in Kearney, NE that is decent for fishing and diving. Scuba divers need to beware of boats, there is a boat ramp for small fishing boats, but it is generally pretty empty. The shore entry is a little tough with deep muck and tree branches. Once you are in, the bottom is generally sandy with some muck as well. Lots of underwater vegetation, and a fair amount of common lake fish like bass, perch, and bluegill. A pretty quick and easy location to access for some decent visibility and aquatic life.

I went scuba diving here right after my Open Water Diver certification. The most common lake in my area is 20 miles away, but some local diver go here. Not bad for quick local dives. You should see the common lake fish and plenty of vegetation. The water tends to be on the green side.
