Novadoc is a boat accessible fresh water dive site, located in Mi. 49436. This dive site has an average rating of 3.00 out of 5 from 3 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 11-15ft/3-5m. The average visibility is 36-40ft/11-12m.

This could be done from shore but you would have to go through Silver Lake Sand Dunes State Park on a quad or 4x4 with sand tires - and then it would be a 100 yard plus swim out.

The Novadoc was a 252 foot bulk freighter that sank in the Armistice Day storm in 1940 within hours of the Minch sinking. The Novadoc sits in 12 to 15 feet of water mostly burried in shifting sands but the bow and stern sections come withing several feet of the surface. this also makes it Great for snorkeling.

Planned on diving this by way of parking at cul-de-sac and using what appears (on google maps) to be a public access stairwell down to the beach. Turns out those roads north of the dunes are all private property, with plenty of signage and "no parking" warnings. Indeed, the only way to access the beach by land without violating private property is to cross the sand dunes. So, I got my ORV permit and a flag, and we went across the dunes with my forester. Added some unexpected fun to the trip! Recommended.
Despite good preparation beforehand, knowing our heading, and some pretty solid nav skills, though, we never did find the wreck. It was a choppy day on the lake, though and viz was pretty poor, maybe 10’. Maybe we just missed it, maybe the Novadoc was covered in sand, maybe a bit of both. Max depth reached was 16’, where it was 64F. 70F at surface. 80F weather.
