Regina Sugar Barge - Anna Maria Island, Bradenton, Florida

At the end of Cortez Road West in Bradenton Beach, turn north on Gulf Drive and trave to about 7th Street. The Wreck is locatated approx 75 yards off the beach. There is a mooring ball that marks the site. 10-20 ft of water.

The site was designated as Florida’s 5th Underwater Archeological Preserve in 2004

I tried this spot on 3Mar2019. The mooring ball wasn’t there but I went out anyway and didn’t find anything. I checked a buoy and there wasn’t anything below but sand.

I dove this site today. Unfortunately a recent beach renourishment has completely covered the wreck with sand. The nearby dive shop tells me it’s not the first time this has happened and the wreck will probably be visible again before the end of the year.
