I’ve never had a "good" time diving in Monterey Bay. My experiences have ranged from barely enjoyable to miserable. For one, it’s really cold.

There are several places to dive ’around the corner’ out of Monterey, coves and bays off the golf courses. Lots of surge due to being pretty close in.
