Coolidge park - Chattanooga TN

Loading...
Coolidge park is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located at Tremont Street, Chattanooga, TN 37405. This dive site has an average rating of 3.50 out of 5 from 2 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 21-25ft/6-8m. The average visibility is under 5ft/2m.

Two entries, one up river at the kayak launch and one a little lower under Market street bridge. Right past Walnut street bridge was an old dump site where people would dump trash along time ago making it prime for finding old bottles and such. Under market street bridge is an old paddlewheeler. Supposedly down river from that about 50 feet is an old civil war dump site.

I went scuba diving here on 6/17/2016. Average viz: 5-10ft/2-3m. Water temp: 71-75°F/22-24°C.
Better visibility than expected. We tried to find the wrecked paddle wheeler, but were unsuccessful. Very mild current. You can put in at upper bridge and drift past coolidge park, then exit under the bridge.

Current was bad, dam release had everything stirred up. we had been looking for the Chattanoogan paddlewheeler but were unsuccesful. Entered from the boat ramp below the Market street bridge.
