Tues. Jan. 17, 2017 - Finally a beautiful, warm day to take a canoe trip up river to dive Lineater, whereby I wouldn’t freeze to death in the river, or on the river, while diving wet.
Conditions were lovely, on the river, and in the cave.

My first impressions of Lineater were deep! I mean that "she" touched my soul. I think that Lineater is the first cave system of the 16 that I’ve dove thus far, to really feel alive, and with a personality.

She’s very cozy, welcoming, and feels "old", meaning, like a Grandma who’s seen a lot, with many stories to tell! Of course, the graveyard above at the boat landing is evidence of how active the river communities once were.

The system is quite active and alive inside, with tree roots, sand dunes, and unscathed beauty, and really touched home as to how important our aquifers are.

This is a gem of a cave system. Our penetration was approximately 2500 ft.

Thank you Guy for being such a good dive buddy and a generous tour guide!

Had to take my little point & shoot, just to get a few surface shots to document the day. Tried a few underwater too, but without light or the proper manual settings, not much was possible. I look forward to a return dive with my DSLR.
