A common site in Lanzarote whilst diving is the angel shark. They can be found, usually relaxing on the sandy sea bed on almost all the dives on the island. If you’re lucky, you’ll even see one swimming or feeding. Sadly, the species is endangered. It has recently been placed on the International Union Conservation of Nature’s 100 most endangered species list, with the waters of The Canary Islands being named as one of the shark’s last remaining haunts. The shark’s decline in numbers stems from ...

Booost Canned Oxygen For Divers Booost Canned Oxygen For Divers

A UK based company has just launched canned oxygen onto the market. Oxygen is very trendy at the moment, being used by many celebrities and sports people as a way to sharpen their thinking and improve their physical performance. It’s kind of like taking an energy drink, but without the calories, caffeine, sugar and the “low” that comes afterwards! We think every diver should have a can in his or her kit bag. It’s not a substitute for medical oxygen in a DCS incident, although it’s probably bette...
