I have been privileged enough to earn the Coral Reef Identification Specialty from the actual author of the course, along with about 10 other students from various agencies, from PADI "Master Instructor" Dr. Mel Briscoe. Mel taught, mentored and certified myself and another MSDT as speciality instructors on the Honduran barrier reef in Utila in mid March 2008. I will be adding a photo of the trip later but I just wanted to share what my dive trip to Utila, Honduras was like. First of all this was a return trip, since my shop "Sterling Silver Scuba" has been travelling there for a number of years (long before I started working/DM’ing there). I`ve just about worked out a schedule for with my IDC instructor and as soon as he says the word..., It`s ON! So, the cool part of this is that I won`t have to impose on my buddies. These guys where cool enough (no pun intended) to get into 36 deg water just to help a brother out!...
