San Salvador Island, BahamasHappy Holidays Everyone!

I`m getting ready for my next dive trip, as I leave the day after Christmas for a roadtrip to Miami, to fly to Nassau, and then on to San Salvador Island in the Bahamas to dive the reefs. I`m going with the biology department at my university, as a part of taking algae samples on the reefs just off of San Salvador Island. I thought this was a really cool opportunity since it`s basically a free dive trip! :)

Anyways, I`m sure many of you are off to other warm-weather destinations in order to continue your dive adventures! I look forward to seeing pictures, and I will post some from my dives as well!

Happy diving, and as always be safe. Enjoy!

Beth, You have the right idea, San Sal is the place to go. Hammerheads frequent the island during the winter and can really send chills through your body. I visit the island frequently and are looking into purchasing some property there. Great diving is you get away from Club Med and Riding Rock. Some good diving on the north and south end of the island that gets you away from the resorts. Water depths are unbelievably deep, some to 7,000 feet. Enjoy and post some pics for everyone to see.
