Grand Turk 2/1-2/6Wow!!! Grand Turk has to be one of the best dive locations in the world. It doesn`t get much better than that. It was like Grand Cayman but just less of a hassel. Small island, easy to get around, not crowded etc. The wall is about 300 yards out--swimable but only a short boat ride. The water was as calm and clear as a swimming pool. The reefs were vivid and prestine and full of life. I even saw an octopus on an afternoon dive! And there is a little island nearby that you can snorkel and feed stringray similar to Stingray City on Grand Cayman. The wall is fantastic as well, and pretty much every dive has some wall diving element to it. I also went whale watching for humpbacks (they are their this time of year) but I was not able to get any underwater pics--they would swim away after I jumped off the boat. I also saw lemon sharks, shrimp, gobie, lots of different fish incluidng cow fish, hog fish, porqupine, puffer, baracuda, stingray, and other typical carribean reef life. The divemaster was top-rate having been on over 3500 dives. Water temp was about 80-85 and viz was often 75-100 feet. Weather was perfect. More pics to come!
