Tips for diving in CroatiaThinking about diving in Croatia could sound weird for many people. However Croatia is undoubtedly one of the currently most desired places by tourists. Historic sites, nightlife, beaches and a fascinating mix of cultures; it is simply lovely. The coast is one of the sunniest in Europe. Natural parks, charming cities and more than 1,200 islands and islets, it’s indeed an unforgettable trip.

Croatia is on the Adriatic coast and borders with Hungary and Slovenia to the north, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the east, Serbia to the northeast, and south with Montenegro and beyond the country, you can include all these others in their script, I say that is very worthwhile, are placed with incredible landscapes, solicitous people and fascinating culture.

The country is also one of the most popular destinations for diving in Europe, the explanation for this popularity is simple: it’s a beautiful place, offers several options when it comes to diving - sunken ships caves – and is ideal for novice divers as for advanced, and it’s cheap!

Here are 5 tips for diving in Croatia:

One of the first things to do is find a dive center that you can trust. Of the numerous places known to divers’ caves, we recommend Lucile Bay on Brac Island, Premuda Island and Grotto Bisevo in Vis Island.

1 – It is permissible to dive all year round but the time of diving is usually from May to November. Croatia is one of the sunniest regions of Europe (but in winter is so cold and some areas come to snow) and the best time to know and enjoy all this landscape is the summer, or at most late spring or autumn beginning which also has very pleasant temperatures but without the crowds of high summer tourists.

2 – In the search for a nice area to dive in Croatia, you will probably find that the Krk Island is one of the best places for diving in the country. Tourists usually come to the city of Split with a plane, take a Split airport taxi to get to the city center from where they take the local ferry to get to Krk Island. There are diving spots where you can see a sunken ship, caves and a wonderful tunnel, which is the entrance to 18m depth and output to 9m, a visit very worthwhile, especially if you take the time to exploitable it with a flashlight. Sometimes you can see dolphins boat.

3 – Plunging on Krk Island you will sight colorful corals, aquatic plants, red starfish and several fish species. It is usual to see tiny octopuses, seahorses, and lobsters (at night).Do not miss the beautiful reefs around Rasip and dive site Te Vega, both in Korcula, where you can dive for a short tunnel to a salty lake full of parrotfish and blennies. You can choose from colorful reefs, caves, walls and shipwrecks, with something for all divers regardless of experience level, including many wrecks and canyons ideal funds for technical diving.

4 – In Losing, there is large marine life, including dolphins. Visibility is excellent, especially in central and southern Adriatic, away from the flow of rivers that affect visibility in the northern part. If you find some mollusk with shell and a triangular shape, please leave it in the water. It is a protected species in Croatia.

5 – The easiest way to visit most of the diving sites in Croatia is to get there by boar or yacht. Even if you do not have your own, you can easily take one from a local Croatia charter and get there safe and easily.
