Quick Review of Mares Icon HD computer

I figured I would make a quick review for anybody interested in the Mares Icon HD integrated computer. I took advantage of the special many online shops had last month for a free transmitter. I suffer from a case of "huh?’s" when it comes to computers. Many are hard to understand, what does this little symbol mean ect... I have to say this is the most user friendly computer I have ever seen. All of the graphics are clear and extremely easy to understand. It has a color display so tank pressure, ascent speed, ect are all color coded. As your air continues to drop the tank pressure will go from green to yellow to red. If you ask me a nice feature for a quick glance. My only issue I had is the battery in the transmitter from the factory was dead, yup a dead battery on a brand new transmitter. Its a standard CR123 so I replaced it and havent had one single issue since. There have been reports in the past that the battery on the wrist computer drains quick. I did 3 dives yesterday with an average time of 55 minutes and at the end of the day, the battery has 87% charge so I believe Mares has the battery problem straightened out. And the battery is charged from a USB connection so it is a quick recharge, it only took 9 minutes to charge from 87% back to 100 using my car usb adaptor. Bottom line if you are looking for a good EASY to understand computer this gets 2 thumbs up from me.

and yes my dive buddies now have a case of computer envy :)

Thanks for that great review. It’s simple yet gave me a good insight to the products functionality.

I own the original version and still need to do the upgrade. I LOVE this computer although I know MANY of the original units had tons of bugs and problems.
