I’ve always carried on my regs and computer because it would cost me too much and would be such a hassle to replace them. If you have the room, I would also carry on the goggles. Everything else can be checked in.

Places like Cozumel are used to divers so you shouldn’t have any issues going through the airport with dive gear. I would, however, not advertize the fact that you are there to dive (i.e. dive stickers on your check in bag).

Coz is such a great place to dive. You’ll have a blast! Enjoy and check back with pics.

Carrying your computer, gauges and regs is also important because they are pressurized and (I’ve heard) that not all cargo holds are.

As for checked baggage, I usually use an old, beat up suitcase. That way it doesn’t look like it contains valuables and I don’t care if it gets a little wet and smelly. Call your insurance company before you go - sometimes your home owners or renters insurance can help with lost or stolen gear. Or you can look into rental prices where you’re going. Sometimes it’s easier and cheaper to rent than schlep.

I’ve been there twice, see my comments in this forum topic Diving Cozumel. One correction about Nitrox - 1st fill of a day is free second add 4$. Say Hi to Hans from me (Mikolaj) once you get there.

Iif you have a torch, you have to carry it in the handluggage, the bulb (if not LED) has to be disconnected from the battery. Computer in the handluggage. I allways carry my regs in the checked luggage, my diving bag has a protective shell and in addition i use a protective regulator bag...otherwise i would carry them in the handluggage too.

I have a prescription mask so always keep that with me along with my regs and computer. Everything else gets checked in.

As everyone has pointed out what to carry on.I would only add Coz iz one of the top place to dove and brought to our attention by Jacques Cousteau. It was my 1st experience in a Ocean yrs ago.I think you’ll have a great time..Quisine & the diving are always great there..Enjoy.

I have a 16" Samsonite X-Space roll-on. It fits everything but fins. all under size and weight restrictions.

I would NEVER check my regs and computers. Most airports have seen plenty of scuba,

as-long-as you dont leave your dive knife in your BCD you will sail right through security and customs.

Try to get to dive The Devil’s Throat and Cedral, both advanced dives. You need to be on your game to drift

Cedral, the current is FAST. If any thing go a pound or two heavy on weight.

I did some reseach and found some terrible review for PRO DIVE, I dove with Scorpio Divers out of Cancun,

They are the best!
