I’ve always carried on my regs and computer because it would cost me too much and would be such a hassle to replace them. If you have the room, I would also carry on the goggles. Everything else can be checked in.
Places like Cozumel are used to divers so you shouldn’t have any issues going through the airport with dive gear. I would, however, not advertize the fact that you are there to dive (i.e. dive stickers on your check in bag).
Coz is such a great place to dive. You’ll have a blast! Enjoy and check back with pics.
