I’m just curious and this may be on here already but do you own or rent your gear? What pieces do you rent and why? maintenance, storage, diving amount, etc.

[Choose #1] I own everything, but still rent tanks when doing most charters. Just easier than schlepping mine around and having to get them on the boat.

[Choose #1] I own all of mine and probably far too much of it as well accumulated over the last 44+ years. I know it is in good condition and serviced. I rent tanks & lead on a flyaway but still take my own pony tank.

[Choose #1] I own all my own gear, I know what condition it is in and trust it.

[Choose #1] own all, feel safer with my own eqipment

[Choose #1] ...just feel safer that way, plus makes local diving easier, I’m ready to go any time!

[Choose #1] I only rent weights and tanks in the Caribbean.
Seeteufel - 2/03/2017 8:34 AM
[Choose #1] I trust my own gear, I do rent tanks on a vacation.
jimenycricket - 1/25/2017 7:47 PM
[Choose #5] tanks / weights, but plan to purchase those as well. I prefer to know all of my equipment, even if to adjust to the comfort of my own weights.

[Choose #1] I own because of the flexibility that it gives me to go when I please and return when I please and I know the exact condition of all my gear.
Wayne71 - 8/07/2016 2:10 AM
[Choose #1] I am almost finished with my gear purchases. I own because I know the condition and status of every piece I have.

[Choose #1] just purchased all my gear, now i’m ready to go, not just when the store is open.
urbaneve - 6/27/2016 7:24 PM
[Choose #1] after all these years i finally completed all my gear set up - no more renting
dalehall - 5/25/2016 3:11 PM
[Choose #1] I own evrything, but if it’s not worth the weight or hassle, I’ll leave my tanks behind and rent them.
ELLOCODIABLO - 5/24/2016 5:52 PM
[Choose #1] own everything in triplicate or more. 6 puters. 15 reg sets. more then a dozen tanks. at least 3 complete rigs ready to dive at any time. but my kids r grown and im a gear whore!!lolololol
djlora1986 - 5/11/2016 6:45 PM
[Choose #4] Prefer to keep up with my own equipment and know it’s not damaged or outdated service.
puddle_jumper - 5/11/2016 4:25 PM
[Choose #5] I rent weights, BC, tank and regs but I used to own them
Adrift - 5/08/2016 10:37 PM
[Choose #1] Minus tanks
ram04769 - 4/25/2016 9:20 AM
[Choose #1] I own everything but rent it all when I head south on vacation. I would need to get more information on what I can and can’t take with me on a plane and what the additional baggage costs would be.
Pixel - 4/15/2016 8:40 AM
[Choose #4] Own everything but tanks. Not worth it for me. BCD and reg were my first buys, because it’s equiptment that my life depends upon.
Sonnylynnvick75 - 3/04/2016 10:05 AM
[Choose #1] I do mostly local river diving or self service quarry diving. Have my own gear makes it much more simple to go get in the water.
Agojo - 3/04/2016 4:47 AM
[Choose #1] 15 years diving, first dive after being certified I used my own newly purchased everything including tanks
MJS - 3/02/2016 12:37 AM
[Choose #1] I’ve been diving for 10 years and I like to just load up my gear and go. I have also purchased gear for my children that dive because it’s important to be familiar and know the gear is well cared for. Their lives depend on it!
critterchick - 3/01/2016 9:46 PM
[Choose #4] Ive been divinging almost 2 years. I like having my own gear because I know its condition and also know that it is clean/sanitary.
